Swedish Massage The goal of Swedish massage is to enhance circulation and facilitate relaxation in the body. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes.  Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and calms the nervous system.  Many massage techniques, including Neuromuscular Therapy, are often performed within the context of Swedish Massage, which typically utilizes long, even pressure along the muscles in the direction of the heart. Prenatal Massage Pregnancy is a time of changes, some more happily embraced than others.  Massage is a wonderful and effective way to relieve discomfort and increase sense of well-being during pregnancy.  Many women are concerned about how they will be positioned during a pre-natal session.  There are many options, depending upon how advanced in pregnancy a woman is, and how she is most comfortable; side-lying, semi-reclined, or through  the use of a "pregnancy cushion," which, if comfortable for you, may allow you to lay face-down comfortably for the first time in a while. About Niki Naeve is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist.  Trained among active athletes and Physical Therapists in Colorado Springs, Colorado and in practice for over 13 years, she is committed to the optimum functionality and well being of every body.  Her practice is enhanced and informed by her personal experience with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Interstitial Cystitis, as well as her active career locally as a singer, actor and dancer.  She has received further training in Craniosacral Therapy at the Upledger Institute.
